Two militants are killed by security forces in the Khyber district

Two terrorists were killed by security forces during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the tribal district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday.

According to the military’s media wing, security personnel carried out the IBO during the night of August 18–19 in response to reports of terrorist activity in the Khyber district’s Bara area.

“Intense fire exchange took place between own troops and terrorists during the course of operation,” it continued. “Two terrorists were sent to hell as a result.”

According to the ISPR, the terrorists who were slain were still actively engaging in attacks on security personnel and the murder of innocent bystanders.

According to the statement, the location is being sanitized in order to get rid of any terrorists that may have been there.

The ISPR statement stated that the locals “appreciated the operation and expressed their full support to eliminate the threat of terrorism.”

Earlier this week, according to a related IBO, two militants were killed in a gunfight with security personnel in a Khyber Pakhtunkhwa tribal area.

The security forces carried out the IBO on the alleged presence of terrorists in North Waziristan’s Razmak area during the nights of August 14 and 15, according to a statement from the ISPR on Tuesday.

Since the return of the Taliban, Pakistan has experienced a sharp increase in terrorist activity, including many suicide bombings and gun attacks that mostly target police and law enforcement institutions in the northwestern regions, resulting in hundreds of fatalities and property damage.
